so as you may know to join the army and to die for your country you have to be at least 18 years old, and to be able to drink you must be 21 years old in most states. today there is a new generation of American army troops who can vote but can not buy a beer. For state representative Flecther Smith democrat for Greenville in South Carolina said "that doesn't make any sense." I completely agree, this does not make any sense what so ever. many 18 years die at war and they never even reached the legal age limit to drink. Flecther Smith is trying to make a proposal from a house subcommittee a bill that would exempt military personal ages 18 to 20 years old from the state's minimum age for purchasing and possessing alcoholic beverages of being 21 years old. this proposal is targeted to treat the military to feel like actual adults and heros theta Americans say they are. "if they can take a shot on the battle field, they can be able to take a shot at the bar." check out the rest of the article.

Hey, kendra you're article was very interesting. I am in between and in both sides. I mean sure you can fight for the country and risk your life for others by age 18. But you do not have the right to drink. I mean at a young age if you start drinking you are the future and then there will be no next generation. Soldiers are an example of many good qualities and should not drink. Young people should not drink what parent will like to see their 18 yr old drunk and wasted?? I know my parents and friends would agree with me as many other people. Why cant you just wait til you're 21?? Does there need to be an age, does age matter??
These are my beliefs I dont think they should drink, who would want to be with a drunkie, who is not thinking and out of there mind?? Thats got to be a joke... I dont take them serious.....
Wow this is a very interesting article. To me all this is simply a waste of time to whom ever wants this change because it would never be passed by congress and i also believe that not a lot of people would agree on letting 18 year olds drink. This is an issue that most people would argue but seriously this issue should not on the topic of many people because the issue that they should be mentioning is when they are going to end the war. I believe that maybe after they make the change to end the war then they could make choices on who could drink or who cant. I agree on what you are trying to say tough that they should be able to because they are dying and maybe they never drank before but still would you rather have a drunk soldier that is alcoholic or a safe non drinking soldier that would do his duty correctly without having to worry about drinking?..
well kendra.
i thought this article to be ver intriguing. It's crazy how you are able to die before you reach the legal drinking age. I personally think that if your old enough to do one thing you should be old enough to do the other, like drinking and dying. In a way history is repeating itself since back then you werent old enough to vote and stuff. hopefully something changes because this isnt fair. In some sort of way. =)
hey i read it and of course i agree with this article and i think that its good thatr theyre thinking about this law.i believe that a soldier should be able to purchase alcoholic beverages. i mean not just soldiers i would also like to be able to buy beer at the age of 18 without it being illegal. so i just gotta say i agree
